New Members

Hello! Dr. John Langlois, here! As the Minister of Education at the First Baptist Church of Greenbrier, let me start by saying “Welcome to the family!” We are glad you are part of our church family. This particular page on our web site is designed to give you some starting points to work from as you get to know us and as we get to know you.

Connecting

One of the key parts of coming into a new family is the getting acquainted phase. So let me encourage you to start by finding a Sunday School class to fit into. We have classes for all ages and we get started at 8:45 AM every Sunday.

Soon, we will have a full breakdown of our Sunday School classes for you to choose from. In the meantime, we have a few options to help direct you; you may talk with a friend you have met, contact our Sunday School Director, David Frye (389-4257), or you can give me a call at 643-4507.

Growing

There are times in life where we grow complacent and satisfied. Being happy with who you are is not a bad thing, but on this journey through life, have we fully discovered, prepared for, and pursued the full purpose which we were created to accomplish?

In the book of Romans, chapter 12, verse 2, we see Paul reminding us “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” There are a few ways for this to happen…

  • Personal prayer and bible study time
  • Regular involvement in a Sunday School class
  • Attending one of our small group bible study classes

You are here, amongst our fellowship because God has led you here. You have made a decision to join our fellowship and get to know our people so they will become your people. In the same way, God is looking for you to get to know Him and I assure you, He wants to get to know you.

Serving

Finally, as a connected and growing Christian, you will not only find opportunities, but a tugging at your heart by the Holy Spirit, to be involved in giving away the fullness of your life to someone else in need. We cannot fully love God, if we are not loving those He brings into our lives.
